Brothers Code

December 14, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Introducing African American Young Men to Tech

Technology is everywhere today. But only a tiny fraction of students are learning how to create technology. Brothers Code is part of the larger Hour of Code campaign to involve youth with the basics of coding education during National Computer Science Education Week. Over 2 million students are already planning to participate in Hour of Code activities.

Knowing the potential of brain power that exists in our communities, Brothers Code will share tech possibilities with 100 middle and high school black male youth. Participants will meet African American men who are tech professionals, learn more about tech career options to consider (they aren’t JUST about coding!), and use hands-on modules to learn the basics of coding.

10am to 12pm – Middle School Session
1pm to 3pm – High School Session

Free admission; Gift cards for all successful participants
